Wreck Beach

You won’t find Wreck Beach on the front pages of Vancouver newspapers (The Province Newspaper and the Vancouver Sun Newspaper) and you definitely won’t find these sun bathers being interviewed on Global TV Vancouver’s local news station either for that matter.

Everyone knows though of this famous nude beach that is located at the University of British Columbia endowment lands on the most western part of Vancouver proper.

Although this Vancouver beachfront is very isolated it is rated by many free spirit visitors who visit Vancouver for holidays as one of the places to visit in Canada.

You won’t find it being offered by any of the sightseeing tours in Vancouver or listed in the official Vancouver tourist information brochures even though it does have some great views of the local mountains and some of the best sunsets in Vancouver.

Wreck beach has been listed on the best Vancouver beaches list of millions of people from around the world over the years.

It does take some effort to get to the beach because it's virtually impossible to drive right to it. You'll have to take a steep walking trail that can take up to 45 minutes before you get to the beach itself.

Beach goers are known to have many an unofficial festival and it is has also been the host location for several Vancouver wedding parties seeking alternative weddings.

Wreck Beach is listed as on of the most romantic places to elope and share wedding vows in the world because of its “natural” beauty!

This secluded area is a very pleasant and should be on the sightseeing in Vancouver list for those who prefer to live free.

Remember to pack a lunch and lots of water and sunscreen because there aren’t any concession stands or hotdog stands that you’ll find in many of the Vancouver parks and that could make for a rough day.
