Vancouver Public Library
Vancouver Public Library is one of the most impressive buildings in Vancouver.
With all the sights there are to see in Vancouver going to the library may not sound like the most exciting thing to do but the central public library downtown is a must see attraction. I think one of the things I like most about the library is that it’s a solid concrete structure as opposed to many of the other great buildings in downtown Vancouver that are mostly glass. It’s a circle in a square design that looks a bit like something you would see in ancient Rome. In fact a lot of people compare it to a Roman Coliseum.
With seven floors, a favorite is the 6th floor where all the art and travel books are. Even though it’s a big library you'll still find it comfortable enough to find your way around and a good thing to know is you can log onto the internet for free. The Vancouver Public Library is a place where even if you don’t plan to check out any books it’s still a great place to go. You can sit in the atrium lobby where there are all kinds of little shops and cafés and small tables to sit and chat. It's a great place to catch your breathe while you're in the downtown core and plan the next Vancouver sight or attraction you want to explore.
