The St. Clair was built in 1911 by a sea Captain of the Empress of Japan Canadian Pacific Steamships and is decorated in a nautical theme.

During the holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas the owner brings in a turkey that's prepared in the kitchen with all the trimmings. A very thoughtful touch and heartily appreciated by travelers.

Next door, the Urban Hideaway is like a little oasis. This guesthouse is one of the last remaining original downtown homes and it's survived since 1896. There's a big sunny rooftop garden and they will lend you a bike to get around.

The location for these two Vancouver hostels really can't beat they are close to eating, shopping and sight-seeing.
