The Vancouver Barnet Marine Park

The Vancouver Barnet Marine park is a little known marine park in the Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover") area. It is a nice day trip out of the hustle and bustle out of the city when you want to step away from the car horns and sirens of Vancouver.

The Vancouver Barnet Marine Park is actually not in the city but is in a suburb called Burnaby (burn-a-bee), it has lots of trails to walk along and be surrounded by nature. Be sure to bring your camera so you won’t miss the chance to take photos of nature in its glory.

If you wait until you get to the waterfront, you’ll be rewarded with some great vistas of the water and the land across it. It’s actually Deep Cove... another great place you must see while in the city.

For those who enjoy water sports, you’ll see boats buzzing along the water and you can also drop your fishing line in the water, just make sure you have bought a temporary fishing permit or you may find yourself in trouble with the game and wildlife or federal fisheries officers.

If you ask about getting a temporary permit at your hotel, they’ll be able to tell you where to get it so you don’t have to run around once you’re there.

The Vancouver Barnet Marine Park is a great place to visit almost anytime of the year, though it can get a bit cold and rainy in the winter months but if you prepare yourself by having a sweater and raincoat, it will still be worth the trip. Its just a little hard to light your barbecue during this season!
