Vancouver Ambleside Park
In Vancouver Ambleside Park is a great little treasure in West Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover or Vankoover") its also one of the little known spots that only locals (that's us) go to and relax and watch the city and the world go by. It’s also a spot to take the best pictures of the city. I like to walk with my dog along the seawall of course he’s on a leash though because it’s the law. As in the rest of the city, parking is a challenge during the spring and summer so I’d suggest that you take public transit if you are planning to come to this spot. If you came to the city and have a rental car, if you look around the area you’ll get lucky and find a parking spot though. I used to like to watch the cargo ships sail by on the way to the docks to pick up or drop off their load cargo destined for Asia pacific as we are the largest and busiest deep sea port on the west coast of the continent. These days in the late spring through mid September the Alaskan cruise ships also sail past and it’s a great sight to see, and take pictures of. If you don’t feel like packing a lunch you can dine on the food of the park’s concession booth, its cheap, usually fast and always tasty if you like fast food that is. If you don’t like the food at Vancouver's Ambleside Park, you can walk a little ways and find a number of really nice local café and have a bite to eat there. Then take a nice slow walk back down to the beach area or sit there and watch the world go by. ...If you enjoyed this little break at the Vancouver Ambleside Park, return often for more exciting information on many more of Vancouver's best things to do, sights to see, local attractions and experience or subscribe to "Why Vancouver" as the site expands with more and more information about our city.
