Vancouver Alaska Cruise Season

Vancouver Alaska Cruise from Vancouver

The Vancouver Alaska cruise season is responsible for over 100,000 visitors to VAncouver annually and continues to grow each year.

The cruise season generally lasts from mid May all the way through September each year. Ships usually leave and return from their voyages at the end of each week dropping off their passengers and picking up new ones to take on their adventure cruise all the way up the west coast into Alaska.

At several stops along the way passengers can get off the ship for a few hours and see the fantastic countryside, take small local land based tours as well as meet some of the local people and merchants.

The Alaska cruise season has recently been extended largely due to the changing climate.

There may even be a time in the not too distant future where the Vancouver Alaska cruise ships will also offer voyages through the Northwest Passage from the West coast across the Artic to the East coast.

It would be a northern version of sailing through the Panama Canal complete with polar bears and whales!

Many of the passengers who book a Vancouver to Alaska voyage usually try to extend their vacation a few days prior to or after the cruise to stay and spend some time in Vancouver.

This makes a lot of sense because many of the trips that people book before seeing Vancouver don’t know what there is to see here.

While they do get a very fast tour of the city, it isn’t very much. To truly get a real taste of what Vancouver has to offer, you need to spend at least 4 days here as there is so much to see and do as well as the things you simply must do while in Vancouver like stroll the seawall, do some shopping and try at least a few of the over 5000 places to eat in Vancouver!
