Vancouver 2010 Olympics

Vancouver Winter Games symbol

This February, the world will turn its eyes to B.C. for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

The 21st Winter Olympics will be held February 12-28, 2010 in Vancouver and the nearby Whistler Ski Resort. This will mark the third Olympics to be hosted by Canada, and the first for British Columbia.

The Games are being organized by VANOC (Vancouver Olympic Committee).

Be a part of history and attend the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, it’s not too late! There are still rooms available at many downtown Vancouver hotels.

When you can’t find any downtown hotels that fit in your budget then try considering one of the Vancouver airport hotels.

The well-designed Vancouver transit system allows you to get just about anywhere in the city for cheap and with hardly any hassle or effort at all.

Of course, if you want to explore beyond the city, then there are plenty of Vancouver car rentals for you to choose from; and this would allow you more freedom to see other parts of British Columbia outside Vancouver.

If you don’t have many (or any) tickets to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics but just want to be a part of the excitement in such a great city, you will find there are plenty of things to do in Vancouver.

Vancouver offers some of the best shopping in the world; or you can choose to spend your day outdoors at the famous Stanley Park.

Stroll through the historic Gastown or get lost in history in one of Vancouver’s famous museums.

Stare into the face of a beluga whale at the Vancouver Aquarium, or peer down 230 feet at a rushing river while you stand on the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Another popular thing to do is to take a day trip to Victoria. Victoria is B.C.’s top tourist destination, and for good reason!

This picture-perfect little town is only a 1.5-hour ferry ride from Vancouver, and offers mild weather year-round. With its English-inspired architecture, horse-drawn carriages, and reputation for flowers, this scenic town, at times, seems too good to be true.

It is well worth the effort to get there; but ferries can sell out and only depart every two hours, so be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time.

One of the best ways to get to know this magnificent city is to book one of the many Vancouver tours and take it as soon as you arrive.

Click here to buy your Rand McNally EasyFinder Map of Vancouver and bring it with you on your tour along with a pen or highlighter. Then you can mark down the areas that appeal to you and that you think you’d like to return to on your own, to explore more in depth.

Your Vancouver tour guide is sure to be a wealth of knowledge and ideas for you, so be sure to ask plenty of questions (and don’t forget to tip!).

If you’ve always wanted to visit Vancouver, you won’t find a more exciting timr than to see this city in all her splendor as she struts her stuff during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

But don’t wait - book your travel today, and be a part of history!
