Top 10 Vancouver Attractions
The top 10 Vancouver attractions that you really must see while you’re here in the city stand out from all the great things to do in Vancouver. There is so much to do here that it was really hard for us to name the best things to see in one of the world’s best places to live that we’ve combined the list with both indoor and outdoor attractions. Some attractions have made the top 10 Vancouver attractions list although technically they are not in Vancouver but in a neighboring municipality. No matter what the weather in Vancouver is doing from day to day the best way to prepare is to have a light raincoat or umbrella handy in your hotel room so your Vancouver vacations aren’t slowed down by our liquid sunshine just have your map of Vancouver in hand and go for it! Just another of the many Vancouver tips you’ll find here on WhyVancouver... Onward... of all the things there are to do in Vancouver, here are the top 10 Vancouver attractions that most Vancouverites and visitors to Vancouver say they enjoy the most: Granville Island Vancouver (Number One)
Granville Island is a great place to go and see lots of Vancouver’s popular artisans working in their shops. This former industrial island is a haven for theatre and art students. You'll also find fresh fruit, baked goods and other mouth-watering delicacies. The best part is that it won’t cost you anything except parking or the water taxi or Vancouver transit from downtown Vancouver (its cheap). ...and, if you happen to be staying at the Granville Island Hotel you won’t have to worry about that either! Vancouver Parks (Number Two)Our Vancouver parks are world famous for their year round beauty and Stanley Park and Queen Elizabeth Park in particular. You can have a great day trip and picnic without leaving the city! Stanley Park Vancouver (Number Three)Stanley Park is which is easily the most beautiful park in the world with its rose garden, amphitheatre, totem poles and the Stanley Park Seawall that surrounds it which is great for a stroll anytime of the day or year for that matter. (One of our things to do in Vancouver and some say it is worth the drive from Seattle to Vancouver itself) This is the winner in my personal of top 10 Vancouver attractions Science World Vancouver (Number Four)Science World is one of the rain or shine things to do in Vancouver and a favourite of kids of all ages. It’s a good place to go and learn about science from a “fun” perspective. Capilano Suspension Bridge (Number Five)Capilano Suspension Bridge is just one of those experiences that your must see during your Canada sightseeing tours to truly see the natural beauty of Vancouver and if you pick up a copy of the Vancouver Sun Newspaper you may even find that they have a special promotion going on like their special price on admission up to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Burnaby Village Museum (Number Six)Burnaby Village Museum is a neat step into the history of the city as it was decades ago! Whistler Ski Resort (Number Seven)Whistler Ski Resort is the second home of the 2010 Olympic Games (formally called the “Vancouver Olympics”) where many of the events of the 2010 Winter Games are but its also a great place to visit year round. And it’s a beautiful day trip drive up the Sea to Sky Highway. Cypress Mountain (Number Eight)Cypress Mountain is one of our best local ski hills. In just 30 – 40 minutes you can go from any of the downtown Vancouver hotels and be skiing (or hiking) on Cypress, Grouse or Seymour Mountain. It’s also one of the best places for a night time view of Vancouver. And it’s just a good as Whistler skiing! Vancouver Library (Number Nine)The Vancouver Library is not only a great place to take pictures in Vancouver, the outside has been in many movies in Vancouver. It’s also a great place to have a sit outside after shopping in a Vancouver mall and rest as you watch the city as it buzzes. (Depending on the Vancouver weather of course)! Vancouver Museum (Number Ten)
The Vancouver Museum is a nice quiet place to visit during your vacation in Canada and Vancouver especially if you aren’t interested in our professional sports teams... Vancouver Canucks hockey, BC Lions football and the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer teams! There are many more Vancouver events and attractions to see and things to do in Vancouver, these are only the top 10 Vancouver attractions so look around the website to see what interests you about Vancouver.
