The Naam
The Naam has been a vegetarian eatery for more than three decades and although it's vegetarian it's not strictly vegan. You'll still find a good selection though even if you’re off eggs and cheese completely. Where you'll fine the restaurant is in Kitsilano, the home of Vancouver’s (pronounced "Vancoover") trendy granola crowd as opposed to just the granola crowd who live around Commercial Drive. You can go to there 24-7-364 (they’re closed on Christmas Day). The Naam has a great little garden patio and inside there’s a real log fireplace that burns through the winter. Beyond that the furnishings are simple wooden tables and the food is wholesome and hearty. Breakfast is served from 6:30 am until 11:30 am Monday to Friday and until 1:00 pm on Saturday and 2:00pm on Sunday...scrambled tofu, fresh fruit crepes, granola and porridge are on the menu. After breakfast lunch and dinner meals are served overnight until the next morning. You can have enchiladas, burritos, burgers, a gigantic salad or the chef’s feature curry dinner of the day. And for your entertainment while dining The Naam has live jazz music every evening from 7:00pm until 10:00pm. With more than 5,000 places to eat, Vancouver is considered one of the top places on the continent to have a meal out for both variety and quality. If you're hungry for something other than Casual, here are a few other of Vancouver's best. We've included a list of our favorites (including The Naam) of Casual, Chinese Food/ Dim Sum, Latin American/Caribbean, French, Indian, Mediterranean, Sushi, Tapas, Thai, Vegetarian, West Coast Casual and if you're into some fine dining, we've listed our own West Coast Fine Dining too...
