St. Regis Hotel
When it comes to Vancouver downtown hotels the St. Regis Hotel is one that is a perfect place to stay when you're visiting Vancouver especially if you're here for business or have a stop over before heading off on a cruise. Newly modernized, the hotel had a grand re-opening in December 2008 after 18 months and $11 million in renovations. The St. Regis is one of a number of places to stay in downtown Vancouver but compared to a number of other luxury boutique hotels all in the same area like the Metropolitan Hotel, Le Soleil, and the Fairmont Waterfront the rates at the St. Regis are a lot lower. You'll be pleased to realize the facilities and services are second to none. This boutique hotel is small in size but big on value. The St. Regis is a first class hotel with bargain prices that will surprise you with its up-to date facilities and its nearness to some of the best shopping and Vancouver attractions. Literally only a few steps away from the St. Regis hotel you can get your day off to a brisk start with a fitness pass to the Steve Nash Sports Club. Steve Nash is the Canadian basketball player who plays point guard for the Phoenix Suns. Business travelers who are short on time or who prefer not to venture too far will appreciate complimentary breakfast and enjoy other meals at the hotel's excellent steakhouse or tapas and grill bar. Another plus for the business traveler is that the St. Regis hotel is in the financial district and it has a business center that is open 24 hours so you can even book a boardroom for a meeting. Transportation is much of a problem either. You can catch the sky train from across the street to take you out to nearby municipalities like Burnaby and New Westminster or you can get on the sea bus for a 10 minute ride over to North Vancouver. With no trouble cruise travelers can easily get to Canada Place the Cruise Ship Terminal to board the ship. If you are visiting Vancouver for pleasure you can walk to other downtown Vancouver tourist attractions like the revolving tower at Harbour Centre and historic Gastown. There's world class shopping on Robson Street or see an art exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery. However you want to spend your time in Vancouver the hotel will be happy to help you chart a mini walking tour that you can do on your own with a downtown Vancouver map.
