The Reef Restaurant Vancouver

The Reef is a Caribbean food restaurant mellowed down and designed with a west coast twist.

Painted in reds, yellows and blues, the Reef makes a cheerful way to start your day of sight-seeing and adventure in Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”). Instead of bacon and eggs how about crepes with fresh mango and banana or coconut toast

The menu is drawn from all over the Caribbean and they do a decent job of blending fruit, hot spices and meat.

If you’ve ever been to the Caribbean you’ll know about jerk chicken where the meat is marinated for 24 hours in herbs, spices lime and lemon juice and then slow cooked…..but you’ll also find cod cakes and rum ribs.

A restaurant couldn’t really be called a Caribbean restaurant without the right beer (Red Stripe and Carib) or proper rum (Mount Gay) and the Reef serves them all along with a good selection of wine.

The Reef is a comfortable restaurant for casual dining with a low key party atmosphere and at night it’s especially cozy when miniature lamps on the tables are lit.

With more than 5,000 places to eat, Vancouver is considered one of the top places on the continent to have a meal out for both variety and quality.
