Queen Elizabeth Park Vancouver

Queen Elizabeth Park Vancouver Duck Pond

Queen Elizabeth Park is smack dab in the middle of the City of Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover").

At just over 150 meters Q.E. park is one of the highest points in Vancouver and boasts a stunning 180 degree view of the city and the North Shore mountains.

At one time Queen Elizabeth Park used to be a rock quarry and the rocks were used to build Vancouver roads. Now, it's one of the prettiest places to take photos.

Starting in the spring and all the way thorough summer on any given weekend in you will come across a number of wedding parties taking photos.

Queen Elizabeth Park Vancouver Sunken Garden

There's a small bridge and waterfall both of which are favorites for pictures.

Queen Elizabeth Park is easy to wander around in because the paths are all paved or tiny gravel and they are a decent size so they are wide enough for a baby stroller of a wheelchair.

The sunken flower gardens are full of shrubs and rare trees.

Queen Elizabeth Park Vancouver Conservatory

At the top of the park is the Bloedel Floral Conservatory (another great place to take photos). The conservatory is a giant silver dome with 500 kinds of tropical and desert plants and flowers. There's also fish and birds that allowed to fly around freely.

In the park there is a dining restaurant in but there are no quick food places. So...plan ahead and bring a snack or a packed lunch along with you and then you can sit and enjoy it on a park bench or by the duck pond.

For a relaxing start to your day come to Queen Elizabeth Park early in the morning and you will see dozens of people playing tai chi.
