PassPort to Vancouver

by Wiley Cameron
(Orange, CA)

I'm a Legal American with a valid passport. BUT, my Drivers License is currently expired. California is dragging their feet mailing me my new one.
I have upcoming travel to Canada. Will my passport be enough? Will there be any issues?

It's been about a year and a half now since all the new travel document requirements came into effect. You basically need to travel with photo documents that prove both your citizenship and identity.

To the best of my knowledge your passport should be sufficient.

You will however need your renewed driver's license to drive here.

The great thing is if your license doesn't come through in time Vancouver public transit is great so you'll be able to get around easily to dining, attractions and other fun things to do in Vancouver.

This information is provided as a courtesy. You should check with the authorities.

Some places to start are:

Canada Border Services Agency CBSA

U.S. Customs and Border Protection CBP
