New Years in Vancouver (where to stay)

I will be visiting Vancouver 12/30 and staying for New Years eve 2010. Is there a location that would be particularly good for activities going on at that time. I have never been to Vancouver, so I would like to see the main spots.

My choices of addresses are: Robson St in downtown, Burrard Street, or Bayshore in Coal Harbor.

Thank you for your response.

Going by the preferences you listed Burrard Street is the most central to everything. But really any of our downtown Vancouver hotels will put you close to all the action.

Make sure you book your hotel and plan your events way ahead of time.

All the downtown hotels will have an event or gala of some sort going on as well as all the nightclubs (Robson Street, Davie Street, Yaletown, Chinatown, Gastown).

Some other places that have New Years celebrations are the Vancouver aquarium in Stanley Park, the Planetarium and the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Your full New Year's celebration will be complete by getting up the next day and following the crowd for a cold, icy dip in the waters of English Bay at the Polar Bear Swim.
