Nelson House Bed and Breakfast has offered character, comfort and convenience to visitors and locals alike since 1990.

Our circa 1907, 3-story Edwardian home guarantees a unique accommodation experience - perfect for an adults-only getaway, a special celebration or a friendly shortcut to learn the insider secrets of beautiful Vancouver.

Our downtown, West End location is ideal. Walk out our garden gate, down a quiet tree-lined street, pass Barclay Heritage Square and it's just two blocks to Robson Street's transit connections, the best shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Three blocks from our door in the other direction is Davie Street, many neighbourhood services and the lively fun of Vancouver's Gay Village.

We are also six blocks from Stanley Park, the beaches and the Aquarium. The Convention Centre, Granville Island, Chinatown, Gastown and Yaletown are all within a half-hour easy stroll.

At Nelson House B & B, we offer five spacious corner rooms (3 with ensuite bath) and a top-floor private suite. All have queen beds. All are decorated with flair and tongue-in-cheek travel themes.

The entire third floor of the house is dedicated to the romantic, Asian-influenced Shangri-La Suite. It features a lounge area with a gas fireplace, a desk, deck, wet-bar and large ensuite bath with jacuzzi and skylight.

Or… would you prefer the glamour of Hollywood's art deco bedroom suite and a dressing room fit for a star, the old-fashioned, British Raj-era feel of Bombay and it's antique clawfoot soaker tub or the woodsy appeal of the Cabin with moose, Mounties and glowing cast-iron stove?

For travelers on a budget, Vienna and Sailor's have a Eurostyle setup with lighted vanity sinks in the rooms and a shared hall bath.


Rates are surprisingly moderate. Rooms with ensuite bath range in price from $168 in high season to $98 in low.

Rooms with shared bath are even more economical. The self-contained suite is well below the cost of anything similar in the downtown core.

No add-ons or hidden fees with us. All of our rates include full breakfast, local phone calls, wireless internet, a high-speed cable connection, fax & copy services and off-street parking!
