Learn to kayak in Vancouver

Learn to kayak in Vancouver! One of the great things about living on the West Coast is that there are so many things to do year-round in Vancouver because of the mild weather we have.

It doesn't matter whether you are visiting Vancouver or if you live here there are lots of activities that you can do or learn to do in the city, one of them is to take advantage of the great weather and being so close to the water and learn how to kayak.

Vancouver English Bay Kayak

Rent a kayak Vancouver for just a few hours or a few days if you already know how to kayak. If you don't know but would love to learn then Vancouver is the place to be. All you need to do is go to Granville Island or one of the many other places in Vancouver that rent kayaks and sign up for a course to learn. Then you can either take the kayak and paddle around the inner harbours or if you like go to one of the Vancouver beaches and launch your private yacht. Paddle around for awhile until you feel like a break then just go back to the beach and rest your weary bones on one of the logs while you enjoy a quick snack and refreshment from the concession stands that are on most Vancouver beaches.

One of my favourite beaches in Vancouver to kayak around is Spanish banks and my other favorite is in English Bay because there's lots of sights that you'll see that you wouldn't normally see when you're walking around simply because you are seeing it from a different angle.

For adventure and a little more time paddling even closer to nature then you can also take a kayaking tour (or expeditions as they call them). You can start out with your kayak in Vancouver and paddle up the coastline. Take day trip or a multi-day kayak expedition alone or with a group complete with a guide and all support to meet you at predetermined locations with hot meals and tents (your temporary Vancouver hotel accommodations) waiting for you!

Would love to hear and share your thoughts and experiences of kayaking in Vancouver with the rest of the world so please feel free to drop us a line or a quick note to tell us about it!
