Hyatt Regency Vancouver
The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is an older downtown hotel. You might describe this hotel as cozy with modern touches. To get to the hotel from the Vancouver airport all you have to do is hop on the skytrain (mono rail system) and about half-an-hour later you get off at the Burrard Street skytrain station which is less than a minute walk across the street from the hotel. The Hyatt Regency Vancouver hotel is in a great location. It's perfect for the business traveler who needs to be close to the downtown financial district offices and for people on vacation who want to be near shopping and attractions. Its also a pretty convenient choice for a place to stay before your Alaska cruise from Vancouver. In 2003 the Hyatt made a name for itself when the staff there created the world's largest gingerbread man. At one time the Hyatt used to be the tallest hotel only building in Vancouver. There are 34 floors in this hotel and most of them have a view which includes the harbour, the mountains and the city skyline. If you happen to get a room on one of the lower floors you may have to deal with some noise from the street. Some people may find it enjoyable to experience this part of the city and for others it may be a nuisance. Amenities include a business center with computers an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness center. Internet and video games are also available but they cost extra. You can also rent a cell phone if you need to, exchange your foreign currency or even get help from the translation service. The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is also pet friendly and wheelchair accessible hotel. There are two restaurants and a lounge in the hotel but if you would prefer to eat out you will have no problem finding a variety of restaurants nearby especially lots of sushi. Only two blocks away is world class shopping on Robson Street which is an attraction in itself. You'll find designer stores there to window shop at, cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by and casual as well as high end places to eat.
A few restaurants you may want to try are Tsunami Sushi which boasts some of the best sushi in the city, Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House (also excellent oysters) and Cin Cin which is hidden away above Robson Street. Cin Cin serves Italian cuisine. While you are there be sure to look around at the guests you are dining with. Cin Cin is known to be favorite for celebrities and you never know which Hollywood Stars you may see who are visiting or filming in Vancouver. If you enjoy sight-seeing by foot the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is within walking distance to some of the most popular Vancouver attractions including Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, BC Place, General Motors Place and one of the most popular beaches in Vancouver, English Bay.
