Horizons

Horizons is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”).

It’s located on top of Burnaby Mountain Park where you will enjoy the view as much as the food.

With a name like Horizons you have to guess you’re going to get a great view and you do.

The dining room is completely surrounded by windows. You’ll see Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm and on clear, sunny day you can even get a peak of Vancouver Island.

If you’re not exactly sure what west coast dining is this is an excellent introduction to wild B.C. salmon prepared on a grill. Other appetizing dishes include rack of lamb and fire grilled chicken.

This restaurant is a lovely spot for a romantic meal...after lunch or dinner you can stroll the grounds and wander the park gardens and see the Japanese sculptures.

Horizons is one in a trio of restaurants. The other two are Salmon House on the Hill in West Vancouver and Aqua Riva Restaurant and Bar in downtown Vancouver.

I’ve only been to two of the three (Horizons and the Salmon House) and in both cases the food was excellent and well-priced and the views are amazing.

With more than 5,000 places to eat, Vancouver is considered one of the top places on the continent to have a meal out for both variety and quality.
