Getting Around Vancouver
Getting around Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover") to explore and sight-see is easy and convenient... and there are many ways you can do that. Public Transit - there are two bus systems in Vancouver Translink and Blue Bus. Translink serves the entire lower mainland but Blue Bus only serves the North and West Vancouver with trips into downtown Vancouver. The public transit system also includes sky train the mostly above ground light rapid transit system and the sea bus that goes back and forth across the harbour
between North Vancouver and downtown Vancouver.
Car Rental - Vancouver is surrounded on three sides by water so a lot of people get around by car. If you are visiting on an extended stay you might consider a car rental. Greyhound Bus Travel - For a day trip away from Vancouver try taking a greyhound bus. You can take a greyhound up to Whistler or over to Vancouver Island to Victoria or Nanaimo. Limousine - Traveling around Vancouver by limousine is probably the classiest way to travel and there are several companies who are only too happy to pick you and take you wherever you want to go. Taxi - Getting around Vancouver by cab can get expensive especially if you get caught in rush hour traffic... they charge by the minute.
