Plan Your Trip Before Researching Flights to Vancouver
While researching flights to Vancouver for your upcoming vacation or business trip, you will come across plenty of travel sites offering cheap flights to Vancouver. Sites like Expedia, Cheap Tickets, Kayak, FareCompare, and Priceline are all great sites to compare fares and get the most competitive pricing. The actual cost of airfare varies greatly and depends on a number of things like:
If your schedule is somewhat flexible, experiment with different dates for your arrival and departure. Most airlines, for example, give you a better price if you’re willing to stay over a Saturday night (this helps out people who are traveling for leisure instead of business). Quite often, you can change your dates by one day and save hundreds of dollars. You can also save money by flying into Seattle and taking the train or bus to Vancouver. It is only about a three hour drive from Seattle to Vancouver, or a four-hour train ride. Numerous bus lines offer transfers between the two cities as well. It takes a little extra effort, but by the time you have a two or three hour layover in Seattle to make your connection, you could be there - and save a fair amount of money too. Not to mention you’ll see some of the beautiful scenery that Seattle and the Northwest Coast are known for! Of course, if you’re open to adventure and seeing the NorthWest like few people ever get to, there are a few less traditional flights to Vancouver that you should look into. You could fly to Seattle and then take a float plane into Vancouver. This would allow you to spend a day or two in Seattle, then take a breathtakingly scenic flight over Puget Sound and the Gulf Islands. To add even more to your trip, fly into Victoria instead, and spend a few days exploring the picturesque little town before heading into Vancouver. The vehicle and passenger ferry makes frequent trips everyday between Victoria and Vancouver, and is a fantastic way to truly experience Vancouver and lower mainland. If you choose to fly directly into Vancouver BC airport, it is pretty easy to get from the airport to the downtown Vancouver hotels. The Vancouver airport transportation recently added a new line to their rapid transit train system, the Canada Line. This train leaves the Vancouver airport every seven minutes and costs less than $5, depending on where you need to go. And, if you’re staying at any of the Vancouver airport hotels, many of them offer complimentary shuttles; but be sure to check with them ahead of time. With a little planning, you can really expand upon your Vancouver vacation and see a few other incredible towns. Keep this in mind before booking your flights to Vancouver, and make the most of your time in this beautiful region.
