The Ferry to Vancouver
You can catch a ferry to Vancouver from many places along the coast line from the Gulf Islands, Victoria and from places in the US like Seattle, Washington. Ferries from Victoria to VancouverThere two main terminals near both Victoria on Vancouver Island and Vancouver on the mainland where you can take ferries between Victoria and Vancouver. Leaving from Victoria the most direct route is to take a ferry from Swartz Bay north of Victoria to Tsawwassen south of Vancouver. There are numerous sailing throughout the day and the trip generally takes between an hour and a half to two hours.
The other route again leaving from Victoria is to drive up to Duke Point (Nanaimo) and take a ferry to Tsawwassen or to Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver). Both routes are good and it really depends on how much time you have and how much driving you want to do. Hopping one of the ferries between Victoria and Vancouver is a great daytrip. While in Victoria enjoy the Inner Harbour, BC Parliament Buildings, Butchart Gardens, Empress Hotel and whale watching. Ferries from Seattle to VancouverInstead of driving from Seattle to Vancouver, a ferry might be a great way to begin a romantic Vancouver vacation or honeymoon. There isn't a direct ferry from Seattle to Vancouver. You will have to take a Victoria Clipper catamaran from Pier 69 on the waterfront in Seattle to Victoria's Inner Harbour and then get yourself to the BC Ferry Terminal for a ferry from Victoria to Vancouver. This is a bit of a long way around. Still if you enjoy travelling on the water it's perfect! Other Ferries to Vancouver
