The Ferry From Vancouver

A great leisurely way to travel is by ferry from Vancouver because you don’t have to worry about catching flights or buses and trains being late and best of all, you don’t have to worry about getting a speeding ticket if you’re driving to Vancouver!

Taking a ferry can be a daytrip in itself because you can stand on the deck of the ship and just enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Vancouver, BC as you sail the welcoming waters. It’s a great way to relax and just enjoy the trip upon your own personal “yacht” and enjoy the cruise from Vancouver.

Victoria Ferry From Vancouver

The Victoria ferry is always a nice trip that leaves from the Tsawwassen (pronounced “tah-was-en”) terminal and arrives on Vancouver Island at the Swartz Bay terminal which is just a short drive to Victoria (downtown). You can also take a bus to Victoria if you want to save money by not having to pay for a car on the ferry and board as a “walk-on” passenger.

The sailing time is usually about 1 hour 40 minutes to travel the 24 nautical miles across from Vancouver.

Ferry From Seattle To Vancouver

There used to be a ferry from Seattle to Vancouver but over time and with the events of September 11 as well as the aging US ferries, this service is no longer offered.

Though you can still take the ferry from several ports in Washington State to Victoria, Vancouver Island.

So if you really wanted to, you could sail on the ferry from Washington to Victoria and then catch the ferry from Victoria to Vancouver and then catch the ferry back to Washington again or take an alternative route after you’ve seen all the sights to see, driven up the Sea to Sky Highway to visit Whistler (which is the sister location to the Winter 2010 events and taken a few of the daytrips to the other areas from Vancouver and visited a Vancouver Café and watched the sun set on English Bay then taken a stroll on the Seawall and done a little shopping in Vancouver especially in Gastown lastly, visited the totem poles at Stanley Park.

These are some of the things to do in Vancouver before you catch a ferry from Vancouver to your next adventure! You can see some Vancouver videos to see what awaits you!
