Downtown Vancouver Hotels
Downtown Vancouver hotels are a great choice when you're looking for a place to stay while you're in Vancouver because they are so close to major attractions and other fun things to do in Vancouver. The downtown core couldn't be more appealing the way it's tucked between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Staying in the heart of Vancouver is unbeatable and one of the best things about downtown hotels. There's over a hundred hotels packed into downtown Vancouver and they are all close to first class shopping, some of the best restaurants in the world and sidewalk cafes where you can sit back and relax. The closer your hotel is to the very center of the city the pricier it tends to be. Most rooms at the four and five start hotels start at around $200 a night.
To get away from the expense you may want to consider one of the smaller boutique hotels like the Granville Island Hotel which can be a bit more affordable but are still close to all the action. Wherever you end up staying you will be well within walking distance of popular must-see attractions like Stanley Park, Gastown, the lookout at Harbour Centre and Vancouver events at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, sporting events at General Motors Place and world class shopping at stores on Robson Street. From your downtown hotel it's super easy to take the seabus (passenger only ferry) over to the Northshore to see other popular attractions like Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Your stay at a downtown Vancouver hotel makes a perfect destination location or a great starting out point for striking out on a daytrip or booking an outdoor adventure like whale watching. Now that the Canada Line route of the public transit sky-train (rapid transit system) is finished it's even more convenient (only 25 minutes) to get to your city center hotel from YVR (Vancouver Airport). A great thing is if you have the freedom to be flexible you may be able to get a great deal. The best days for hotel bookings are between Monday and Thursday because rates tend to drop during these days and if you are planning to stay for a week or more make sure to book for at least seven days because most hotels will give you a discount for a week or more stay. With great views and Vancouver entertainment and night-life just out the front door of your hotel you'll get to experience a fantastic combination of city and nature. Whether you're here to spend your time in Vancouver on pleasure, business or a romantic Vancouver vacation you will be sure to find just the perfect downtown Vancouver hotel.
