Within
an hour’s drive of beautiful Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”) are many
natural attractions and sights to see.

Heading
west from the city and along the Sea to Sky Highway you will encounter
some of the most incredible scenery.
The
Sea to Sky Highway takes you along the coast of Howe Sound on one
side and on the other side of the road are forests and snow-capped mountains.

This is
a trip to be savored with many areas to stop to admire the view
and some of the best places to take stunning pictures.
Along
the way are residential communities like
Horseshoe Bay where you could
also choose to hop on a ferry and take a day trip over to the
Bowen
Island.
Heading
east takes you out into the farmland. Be sure to stop and pick-up fresh fruit
and organic greens.
To the
south Steveston is a destination fishing village. In the summer time this
place is brimming with visitors who come to buy fresh fish from the fishers
right off the boat.
So take
the scenic route, enjoy a ferry ride, explore a historic village or see dramatic
scenery…
A day

Belcarra-There’s
just so much to do in Belcarra Regional Park that its kind of like all the
things to see and do in Vancouver but its all in nature!
Bowen
Island-Bowen Island makes a great little day trip away from Vancouver
(pronounced "Vancoover") and it feels like a world away.
Brackendale-Every
year hundreds of people drive to Brackendale a short drive from Vancouver
(pronounced "Vancoover") and they do a thing they call the “eagle count”.
Burnaby Mountain-Burnaby
Mountain near Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover") is a romantic place to go for
supper and watch the sun set on the horizon.

Bog-Burns
Bog, Delta is a natural attraction and one of the largest peat bogs in the
world.
Cloverdale-Cloverdale got it's name in the late 1800's because of all the wild clover that
grew everywhere.
Cultus Lake-At
Cultus Lake resort an hour away from Vancouver (pronounced "Vancoover") you can
rent a power boat or splash around in the water park.
Deep
Cove-Deep
Cove is one of Vancouver's hideaways.
Fort
Langley-Fort
Langley is a great place to go especially if you like learning about the days of
fur trading and pioneers.
Gulf
Islands-The Gulf
Islands are a bit more than a day trip from Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”)
you’ll need at least a weekend.
Horseshoe Bay-When you
get there what you’ll see is a charming little seaside village.
Pitt Meadows-Part
golf course heaven and part rural farming community, Pitt Meadows is quickly
becoming known for its eco-tourism recreation.
Steveston-Hordes
of people flock to the fishing village of Steveston 40 minutes from Vancouver
(pronounced "Vancoover") in the summertime for fresh seafood.
The
Lions-The
Lions are one of the amazing natural attractions that you’ll find all over
Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”) and the lower mainland.
Victoria-It makes
for a long day but a day trip to Victoria is worth the ferry ride.
Whistler-Whistler, the ski resort home of the 2010 Winter Olympics has also developed
itself into a summer resort as well.
