Cypress Mountain Adventures

Cypress Mountain is known as the local Vancouver skiing mecca for everyone to sneak off of work early during the winter and get in a few runs with the new snowboard or skis before it gets dark.

This Vancouver ski gem has been a favourite for generations of skiers and you’ll not only find people sneaking out of work during the week (making good use of those sick days) to play in the powder, but you’ll also find many elderly people who have long retired and even school field trips taking advantage of both the downhill (Alpine) runs and also the cross-country (Nordic) trails.

Cypress Mountain ski area is very popular and its ideal for a cheap ski vacations instead of spending all of your hard earned money at Whistler on a daytrip which is not a cheap ski vacation resort unless you have a discount ski vacation which can also get as costly as the Banff ski resort!

While the Whistler ski conditions some times are better than in the city the Vancouver ski chair lifts and hills are not as fast (or expensive) as the Whistler ski chair lifts but then again you don’t have to drive for over an hour to get into the snow!

Since the ski hills are so close to downtown Vancouver hotels (including cheap hotels), that you don’t have to worry about special issues and Vancouver accommodations.

Since this mountain is also the local Vancouver venue for the Winter 2010 Nordic and snowboard events so you if you ride (ski) Cypress you’ll be riding history!
