Color Easter Eggs in Vancouver

 Color Easter Eggs

To learn how to color Easter eggs in Vancouver a good place to start is at a local neighbourhood community centre.

After taking a class that teaches this ancient art you will find that it is quite simple to dye your own Easter eggs and that the ways to create an Easter egg pattern is limited only by your imagination.

The simplest way is to start with hard boiled eggs. Here are a few suggestions for you to use to decorate your own eggs.

Dye Easter eggs:

  - Put your eggs in a food coloring and a few drops of vinegar and leave them in there until they are the shade you like.

  - To dye your eggs more than one color use rubber bands to cover up parts of the egg and dip them in a light color. When the eggs are dry leave the rubber band on even add some more (maybe even a different size) and dip them again in a darker color. Keep doing this until you are satisfied with the mix of color. Once the egg is totally dry take off all the rubber bands and you will have beautifully colored Easter eggs.

Another way is to attach a piece of sponge to a clothespin Dip the sponge in your food coloring and dab it on half of your egg. Let that part dry and then turn it over and color the other side.

One more idea is to glue bits and pieces on your Easter egg. You could use sequins, glitter, stickers, buttons, ribbon dried flowers or whatever you like.

Easter eggs are hidden by the Easter Bunny for children to find on Easter morning. It's a tradition that goes back to 1878. It's more common nowadays though to use chocolate eggs and plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and other candy.

One of the more famous Easter egg hunts anywhere is in the United States. The White House Easter egg hunt is celebrated on the lawns of the White House in Washington with celebrities and nursery rhyme characters in attendance.
