The Bikram yoga Vancouver studios are getting more and more popular as people begin to learn more about their hot room yoga exercise class.

Some people do yoga for exercise while many do it as a form of physical and spiritual cleansing for the mind and body.

Bikram hatha yoga is a “hot yoga” also called in some places “sweaty yoga” because the yoga studios raise the room temperature to match the body’s internal temperature which enables your body to become more flexible and more easily do the Bikram postures such as the “cobra pose”, “eagle pose” “locust pose”, and many of the others.

During the Bikram classes, the senior class mates do the same postures (poses) as Bikrams beginning yoga class and this is great because the new yoga students can see the other average Vancouverite doing the Bikram postures and have something to aspire to!

Bikram hot yoga is a very relaxing exercise class but make sure you drink lots of water before, during and after your class because you are doing hot room yoga which means if you’re like the average person who is not use to the heated room about 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) you’ll be thinking that it should be renamed “sweaty yoga”!

After class you’ll feel great that you actually were flexible enough to do a number of the Bikram postures “fairly easily” as well as have a sense of calmness around you from finishing the class at the Bikram yoga Vancouver studio.

One word of caution though, Bikrams yoga can be a lot of fun but...

Remember that while you’re in the hot yoga class that your body is artificially heated and that you are not as flexible as you may feel in the class and to keep this in mind so that you don’t over-stretch and injure yourself once your body begins to cool down.

Take your time, relax and go at your own pace and you’ll not only feel good after but you’ll also be taking care of your body while enjoying a Vancouver recreational adventure.
