Beaches in Stanley Park

There are two beaches (called Third and Second) right in Stanley Park…and one a beautiful day they are indeed a popular attraction.

Vancouver (pronounced “Vancoover”) isn't particularly known for being sandy but the one here at Third Beach actually is sandy.

(it's also a really romantic thing to do with that "special person" in your life.Watch the Vancouver sunset video below to see what we mean)

You can have a barbeque here and there’s a lifeguard on duty here. Before you start your barbeque, just make sure there isn't a fire ban on during the really dry times in the city. You are after all in a forest in the middle of a major city... (how cool is that!)

There is also a concession and washrooms where you can get changed in.

At Second Beach there’s an outdoor heated pool which is nice because the ocean is on the cool side. You can also barbeque here and there’s a concession stand and washrooms as well as a lifeguard on duty.

Second used to be a pool that was filled with water from the ocean when the tide came in. The water would be held by gates for a week and then it would be let out and filled again at the next high tide.

The pool is now fresh water because of new health regulations and the water isn't as "clean" as it used to be with the old health regulations not that long ago.
